Forrest Frank arrives at his December 4 album, The Jesus Generation, with two No. 1s on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart, and a 38-week run atop Top Christian Albums. This guide collects the chart facts Billboard has published, explains what each number means, and shows what to watch when the new album's first-week chart appears.

The quick version

  • Hot Christian Songs: two No. 1s. The second, "Jesus Is Alive!", reached the top of the chart dated May 30, 2026 after a 16-spot jump. It was his 70th entry on the chart and his 10th top 10.
  • Top Christian Albums: Child of God (2024) led for 38 weeks. Child of God II (2025) opened at No. 1.
  • Billboard 200: Child of God reached the all-genre chart; Child of God II rose to No. 12.
  • Hot 100: "Your Way's Better" became his first solo song on the all-genre Hot 100, and "Lemonade" with The Figs also landed there in 2025.
  • 2025 year-end: he led both Top Christian Artists and Top Christian Artists, Male, and his two Child of God albums took the top two spots on the year-end Top Christian Albums chart.

All figures come from Billboard's own reporting, linked at the bottom of this page.

What is on the way: the album and its early singles

Billboard reported on October 28 that The Jesus Generation will be released December 4 through River House Records. Frank previewed collaborations with Lecrae and KB ("Go Go Go"), JVKE ("Let the Light In"), Michael W. Smith ("Glory Hallelujah"), ZVC ("My Little Miracle") and Elevation Rhythm ("Revival's in the Air"), and said new music would arrive on Friday, October 30. The album follows his May single, also called "The Jesus Generation," and the sold-out tour of the same name, which Billboard says sold more than 470,000 tickets within 10 days of going on sale. A tour film is planned for 2027; our documentary guide covers what is known there.

No full track list or first-week projections have been published at the time of writing, so any specific chart prediction is a guess.

Hot Christian Songs: how a song gets to No. 1

"Jesus Is Alive!" is the useful case study because Billboard spelled out how it climbed. It rose 16 spots to No. 1 on the strength of 3 million official US streams (up 199%) in the May 15 to 21 tracking week, per Luminate. Two details matter for readers who follow the chart:

  • The version count adds up. The song was boosted by a social-media challenge in which fans and fellow artists added their own verses. Those versions were collected on the 20-track Jesus Is Alive Vol. 1, released May 15, and Billboard notes that all the remixes count toward the song's chart rank. A single release with many versions can therefore chart like one very large song.
  • Speed is rare. It reached No. 1 in two weeks. Billboard says that since the chart adopted a multimetric methodology in 2012, only three other songs have gotten there that fast: Reba McEntire and Lauren Daigle's "Back to God" (2017), MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine" (2018) and Daigle's "You Say" (2018), which went on to a record 132 weeks at No. 1.

Top Christian Albums: the long-run numbers

Albums charts reward staying power, and this is where Frank's record stands out. Child of God, released in 2024, led Top Christian Albums for 38 weeks, according to Billboard. In 2025, Child of God II opened at No. 1 on the same chart and later rose to No. 12 on the Billboard 200. At the end of 2025, Billboard's year-end Top Christian Albums list placed Child of God and Child of God II first and second.

That is the benchmark for the new album. A strong opening week is one test; the other is how long it stays. A 38-week reign is the figure the new release will be measured against.

The crossover question: Hot 100 and the Billboard 200

Christian chart success does not automatically travel to the all-genre lists. Frank is one of the clearer cases of it happening anyway. "Your Way's Better" gave him his first solo entry on the Hot 100, and "Lemonade" with The Figs also landed there in 2025. On the album side, Child of God reached the Billboard 200 and Child of God II rose to No. 12. Billboard has described him as one of Christian music's most visible crossover artists, mixing pop, hip-hop and worship with a social-first release strategy.

When you read the first reports on The Jesus Generation, check which chart a headline is quoting. "No. 1 on Top Christian Albums" and "top 15 on the Billboard 200" are very different feats, and both can appear in the same week.

Other awards in the same story

Billboard's October 28 article notes that Frank has earned five GMA Dove Awards and three Grammy nominations to date. For the awards side, see our 2027 Dove Awards date and ticket guide. For a very different chart story from the same week, see how Kid Rock's Christian-chart debut played out.

What to watch when the album lands

  1. The tracking week. Billboard's weeks run Friday to Thursday, as in the May 15 to 21 week above. The album's first week would be December 4 to 10. In May, a tracking week ending May 21 appeared on a chart dated May 30; if the same lag holds, the first-week chart would be dated about December 19. That date is our inference from Billboard's pattern, not an announced schedule.
  2. Top Christian Albums versus Billboard 200. Compare the two debut positions, as with Child of God II.
  3. Which singles chart. Billboard's Hot Christian Songs counts streaming, airplay and sales, so album tracks and the five previewed collaborations can all enter in the same week.
  4. Staying power. Check the second and third weeks, not only the debut.
