A priest and his wife died on the beach while trying to save their son

Felisberto Sampaio (43) and his wife Inalda Sampaio (42) died after trying to save their 13-year-old son Ian Sampaio from an accident at Camcari Beach in Brazil. The couple went into the sea to save the child. Brazilian news agency Universo Online reports that the incident took place around 10 am. The child was rescued by civil police, a fisherman, and another family member. But the parents could not be pulled out of the water in time.

The department tried its best to save them and eventually the couple was declared dead on the spot. The Sampaio family hails from the city of Campina Grande, Brazil, and his father was the pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in Quixaba, Paraíba for 12 years. The family was spending a few days in the town of Paribas, Lucena.
Members of the church mourned the couple’s death, and their parents, Leonardo Meneses, said the “circumstances are painful and difficult to understand.” Menes said, “Eternity alone can explain all the mysteries of life.” The couple’s eldest son, Isaac. Sampaio wanted to see his parents before his tragic death, but he returned after seeing them for the last time on January 8.
